Most people are surprised to learn that, when all costs are considered, mausoleum interment is comparable in price to traditional burial. Mount Hope Cemetery offers several options in this regard.

Whiting Abbey Mausoleum Facts:
• 959 crypt spaces.
• 30 niche spaces.
• Interior is Crema Marfil marble trimmed with Madeira marble.
• Exterior is Barre gray granite on the north and Missouri Red granite in the courtyard.
• Crypts consist of deluxe crypts (side by side) true companion (head to toe) and Westminster crypts (one on top of another).

Other Mausoleum Facts:
• Mount Hope Abbey was Topeka’s first mausoleum. It was built in 1927 and has 365 crypt spaces.
• The stained glass in the Biddle room of Mount Hope Abbey (below right) was made by the world famous Louis Tiffany.
• In 1961, the Mount Hope Abbey addition was built. It has 700 crypt spaces and ten different colors of marble. It was the largest mausoleum in Kansas when it was finished.
• In 1975 the Chapel Garden Mausoleum (below left) was built. It has 756 interior and exterior crypts. The chapel is trimmed with stained glass and seats 150.
